We've had another productive Saturday. The Mechanical and Electric CDTs got the PracticeBot assembled, connected and functional. When Programming was added in, the robot took its first run around the practice field. The yet-unnamed CompetitionBot started to be assembled and is looking sharp! Construction and sewing of the bumpers also occupied several students and some parents for most of the day.
The CAD team isn't done with its work this season - they spent the day creating an electrical chart of the robot. Scouting got to work on setting up this year's version of ScoutNet and checking out robots from other teams. Programming got to test their code on a now working robot, as well as worked on getting a camera to connect with the driver's station.
After much preparation, we kicked off the Steam Works season. We're excited about the challenges that it has presented. We instantly got to work, reviewing guidelines, manuals, and rewatching the kickoff video. We broke off into teams of 2-3 and began prototyping today and most groups have already been very successful.
